The port of Valencia has developed a pilot project with Intelligent Mobility that allows cruise passengers arriving in large ships to have a quick, simple and ecological way of going around the city centre. Thus, ValenciaPort has enabled the first 10 electric vehicles as a test.
The bicycle collection station is installed in front of the Port Authority Building and next to the Trasmediterránea passenger terminal. In this way, it facilitates the harbour-city connection for the thousands of cruise passengers who arrive during the year in the capital of Turia from the waters of the Mediterranean.
The initiative, coordinated by the Valenciaport Foundation, is part of Sumport, the European project co-financed by Interreg MED, the foundation itself and with the collaboration of the Port Authority of Valencia and Las Naves. The primary objective is to establish a model of sustainable, modern and environmentally friendly urban mobility in port cities.
Mobility and eco-efficiency join hands to build a sustainable and responsible city model.
